1. Marienplatz
The gothic cathedral and parish church "Zu Unserer Lieben Frau" from the 15th century is and remains the unmistakable landmark of the city. But not everyone knows that massive church is the resting place of emperors and even the devil is said to have come and gone here. The more than 500-year-old brick building is the seat of the Archbishop of Munich and Freising. One of the two almost 100-meter-high towers is accessible and offers a spectacular view over the city.
2. Odeonsplatz
A tourist hotspot, Odeonsplatz is one of the famous squares in Munich. It is also the well-known site of Hitler’s Munich Putsch. In 1807, the farmer's market outgrew its location at the time, which was Marienplatz. It was moved to a nearby square, where it thrived and expanded. Today, covers 22,000 square meters and includes a butchers' hall, bakery, fish hall, and flower market in addition to its fruit and vegetable vendors. It's not just a place for locals to buy items for the night's dinner. 4. Allianz Arena
