Here are our top 10 bus company tips for Malmo

1. Malmö Castle

When you're planning a city trip to Malmö, make to visit the famous Malmöhuss Castle. The historic building, built in the 16th century, is the oldest well preserved Scandinavian Renaissance fortress. Historically, it was one of Denmark 's largest defensive fortresses, to which Malmö still belonged back then. Today, the castle complex has become one of the most extraordinary cultural attractions in Malmö, as it houses several museums within its historic walls as well.

2. City Hall

Located on the main square, the town hall of Malmö was built in 1546. The façade that we see today was added in the 19th century, when the building was renovated. The Renaissance design of the facade is the work of the architect Helgo Zettervall. The sculptures of Malmö's historic figures, such as Jörgen Kock, Mayor of Malmö in the 16th century, and Frans Suell, Swedish businessman from the 18th century, are also at display here.

3. Lilla Torg

If you're eating out in Malmö, chances are you're going to find yourself on this lovely square in the center of the city. When Lilla Torg comes to life in the summer, there are dozens of restaurants and café terraces surrounded by historic buildings on the square. Lilla Torg is the smaller neighbor to Stortorget, the main square, which was built a little later. Back in the 17th century, this was a location for city residents to purchase at grocery stores, butcher shops and bakeries.

4. Slottsträdgården

What's going to excite you about Malmö is the amount of greenery in the middle of the area. This park is situated to the west and south of the castle, bordering the moat. Slottsträdgården is a fairly recent project rooted in organic farming practices. There is a mosaic of theme flowers and herb gardens, along with a kitchen garden that grows vegetables sold on site. The park hosts seasonal activities such as the Harvest Festival, the Onion Festival and the high-profile Malmö Flower Show, which takes place in June.

5. Kungsparken

Malmö 's oldest park, built in 1869-70, is separated by canal from Slottsträdgården. This land was part of the fortifications until the castle became redundant as a defensive structure and the area became a romantic English-style garden. With 120 tree species from three continents, the park is stunning, an elegant central fountain and wide paved paths along the canal. The 19th-century Grotto (Grottan), restored in the 1980s, is next to the fountain. Stortorget

6. Sankt Petri Church

St. Peter's kyrka or simply St. Peter's Church in Malmö is the oldest building in the city and dates from the 14th century. The red brick church was built in Gothic style and is about 105 metres high. Although the medieval frescoes were destroyed during the religious wars in the 16th century, the church still has enough to be on the list of Malmö's best sights. The impressive wooden altar and the restored murals in the chapel are also well worth seeing.

7. Öresund Bridge

Anybody keen on megastructures would want to cross the famous Öresund Bridge, which connects Sweden and Denmark. It is the longest railway and road bridge in Europe, extending for eight kilometers to the man-made island of Peberholm. Here it switches to a tunnel to make the connection to Copenhagen.

8. Södergatan

Södergatan is the main shopping street and one of the two oldest avenues in town. It predates all city squares, and in 1978 it became Malmö's first pedestrian route. Visit high-quality stores and restaurants, and iconic Swedish department stores such as Åhléns Area.

9. Turning Torso

Located west of the port, this unorthodox tower was designed by the Spanish neo-futurist Santiago Calatrava and, as the name suggests, has a twisting shape. At 190 metres high, Turn Torso is the tallest skyscraper in Scandinavia.

10. Stortorget

Next street, Malmö 's largest square is also the city's oldest square from the 1540s. There are several large administrative buildings and the City Hall is the most prominent
